Ever since man began to think logically about the business of buying and selling goods, he had invented the currency. The currencies differ from country to country. Certain currencies have their own symbols like the US dollar, Euro etc.

An independent symbol just like these was like a dream come true for all Indians. Now that the Union Cabinet has approved the new symbol for the Indian Rupee (  ) designed by Indian Institute of Technology postgraduate D Udaya Kumar, the question in everyone’s mind is how and when do we get to type the new symbol?

Unfortunately this standardized symbol is not yet approved by the Unicode Consortium’s Unicode Technical Committee that is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Unicode Standard, including the Unicode Character Database. Here in this post we are providing the modified version of the existing standard fonts like Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman and Tahoma. These fonts are strictly windows based and you cannot use it in any other Operating Systems right now. Install the Fonts given in the archive and using character map locate the corresponding Unicode onto which the symbol has been inserted as shown in the screenshot given below

So here most of the fonts works with the ‘ ~ ‘ key as indicated in the keyboard below.

Securimage is an open-source free PHP CAPTCHA script for generating complex images and CAPTCHA codes to protect forms from spam and abuse. It can be easily added into existing forms on your website to provide protection from spam bots. It can run on most any webserver as long as you have PHP installed, and GD support within PHP. Securimage does everything from generate complicated CAPTCHA images to making sure the code the user entered was correct.

3. WebSpamProtect
WebSpamProtect allows you to instantly add verification image (CAPTCHA) to your web site and protect your forms against spam robots. In order to protect your web form, this system requires that you install a small piece of code onto your web page. The code requires that your web site support PHP, Perl, ASP or ASP.NET. Basic plan is free but you can buy a Premium, Advanced or Professional paln with a little expense.

4. Cryptographp
Cryptographp is a PHP script for generate captchas. Cryptographp limit the robots bombarding spams and automating the forms: spaces members subscriptions, guestbooks, forums… This script is free and does not use any database. It is compatible with PHP >= 4.3.0. Cryptographp also exists into plugins for WordPress, wpMu for WordPress, Symfony and Guppy.

5. CAPTCHA-Service
captchas.net provides CAPTCHA images and audio files you can use in html-forms. To use this technology, your web pages have to be generated dynamically in any programming language PHP, ASP, Perl, Python, JSP, Ruby.

6. WP Captcha-Free
WP Captcha-Free blocks comment spam by using a combination of time-based hash (a.k.a. Time Based Tokens, TBT) and JavaScript (AJAX). When a comment is posted the plugin validates a hash based on time (and some other parameters). Comments posted via automated means will not have a hash or will have an expired hash and will be rejected. Unlike using a captcha, this does not place any burden on the commenter.

7. ProtectWebForm

9. Form-to-email script protected by Captcha
This form-to-email script is intended to collect data from an HTML form and send it to a specified email address using a CAPTCHA script to stop spam. It works with any kind of HTML form and you can use it multiple times on your pages.

10. freeCap
freeCap is a GPL CAPTCHA script to stop spam. It has been used on any form on any kind of website. It does require some knowledge of PHP to install, though there are several captcha plugins for forum and blog software listed below.

One advantage of having the phones with camera is that you are the owner of a mobile bar-code reader. The Nokia N-Series phones  comes with a built in bar-code reader.; the other phones needs additional softwares. Google has been testing new changes to their images service over the past week or so and now they had officialy launched new features to google images .The new Google Image Search refresh design provides a dense tiled layout which allows users to look at lot of images at once. In addition to that, it also provides users with Instant scrolling between pages allowing users to view 1,000 images in one scrolling page.

The new Google Image Search also provides users with a Larger thumbnail preview and also displays the full image when you hover over a thumbnail. Clicking on a image link will now take you to a new landing page which displays the large image in context with the website it was found on. And last but not the least, Google Image Search now also has optimized keyboard navigation for faster scrolling through different pages.

In other words, yes, it looks more like Bing.

There are tons of Internet Browsers available including Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari, however, the Epic Browser is a bit different in the sense that it has been created specifically with Indians in mind.

Hidden Reflex, a Bangalore based software startup, has launched a browser targeted at Indian audiences: Epic.

The browser has been created by a team of Indian engineers on the open-source Mozilla platform, it said in a statement.

Any internet user can now download the browser for free by logging onto the website www.epicbrowser.com “Epic provides a uniquely Indian browsing experience. Epic’s India sidebar supports Indian content by providing users access to the latest national and regional news from popular publications, live television channels, videos, stock quotes, live cricket scores, top music albums, and local events”, it said.

Users can choose from 1500+ customized Indian themes and wallpapers ranging from freedom fighters to famous Bollywood and regional film stars. Writing in Indian languages is supported throughout Epic. Users can instantly write in Indian languages on any webpage or in Write, Epic’s free built-in word processor. Twelve Indian languages are currently supported, the statement said.

Free antivirus scanning and healing is built into Epic, while another security measure warns users when they’re about to visit potentially dangerous websites.
